Text Box: Please let me help you in any way I can to achieve your wellness goals.  -Dr. Weitzman
In the book Discover Wellness written by Dr. Bob Hoffman and Dr. Jason Deitch, it is said "Wellness can be defined as the quality or state of being healthy; especially as the result of deliberate effort, or as an approach to health care that emphasizes preventing illness and prolonging life, as opposed to the treatment of diseases.  Dr Patrick Gentempo, CEO of Creating Wellness, defines Wellness as the degree to which an individual experiences health and vitality in any dimension of life."
The book goes on to talk about the 5 components of Wellness: Alignment (*Chiropractic*), Exercise, Nutrition, Healthy Thinking, and Healthy Lifestyle Habits.
Part of Wellness is exercise.  I believe that anything that can help to make exercise more fun and motivate you is a great thing.  I recently started using a GPS watch and this software program to help me!   The software is called Sport Tracks to track your workouts.  It acts as a daily diary for you to enter and track your workouts.  If you have USB-capable heart rate monitors or GPS enabled tracking watches, then this is the program that synchronizes with this program!  I personally use it with my Garmin GPS watch to track my running, hiking, weight workouts .  It also keeps track of your mileage on your equipment, sneakers and weekly or monthly reports.                      http://www.zonefivesoftware.com/SportTracks/  & This is the discussion forum for the software:   http://sporttracks.zonefivesoftware.com/Discussion/
Part of Wellness is eating right (Proper Nutrition) and putting the proper fuel in your body to get the most out of it.  Keeping track of your calories can be a start to where you may be doing well and where you may need to change.  It is better to gauge what you are eating and know what your caloric intake is rather than guess!  You can use one of these free sites to keep track daily!      http://www.nutritiondata.com/   or   http://www.fitday.com/  or   http://www.caloriescount.com
We also run body cleanse/detox programs in the office to clean up your body and rid your body of toxins.  This is a great way to jumpstart a dietary change, a weight loss program, or just making your body a cleaner place to live!  I use products from 3 supplement companies:  www.Metagenics.com, www.pharmaxllc.com and www.drstu.isagenix.com.
How about a different and more accurate food pyramid. www.honestfoodguide.org/
Part of Wellness is Healthy thinking is positive thinking....  just as negative emotions can weaken our body's resistance, positive emotions can strengthen it, or at least allow it to function normally.
Part of Wellness is Healthy Lifestyle Choices.  Stop smoking, Stay away from sugar, Watch Less TV, Get enough Sleep, Find Love & Intimacy and Volunteer or Donate money to something you believe in.
